What is a noun?

John is a noun because it is the name of a person. 
India is a noun because it is the name of a place. 
Television is a noun because it is the name of a thing.
What is a pronoun?
A pronoun is often defined as a word which can be used instead of a noun.
For example
Mary is reading a book. Mary is an intelligent girl.
Instead of using Mary again in a sentence we can use pronoun she.
We can say She is an intelligent girl.
What is an adjective?
An adjective is often defined as a word which describes or gives more information about a noun or pronoun.
For example
Smith is a lazy boy. The word lazy is an adjective which gives more information about the noun Smith.
Let us take next example.
She is tall. She is a pronoun. Tall is an adjective because it gives more information about pronoun she.
