The feeling of nervousness before giving a speech is natural and healthy. But too much nervousness can be detrimental.
There are certain tips to control your nervousness & make an effective presentation.
*Know the room-Be familiar with the place you will speak from. Arrive early and walk around the place with a microphone in your hand.
*know the audience-Connect with the audience as you arrive on the stage to get the comfort. It’s always easy to speak to people with whom you are comfortable rather than with strangers.
* Know your material- Be comfortable with your content. If you are uncomfortable than your nervousness will increase. Revise and practice your content thoroughly.
*Relax- Ease tension by doing exercises.
*Visualising yourself giving your speech-Visualise yourself as being successful with a loud voice. If you visualize yourself successful then it will be successful.
*Realise that people want you to succeed.- Realize that people want you to be successful, stimulating and effective. They don’t want you to fail.
*Don’t apologise-If you mention your nervousness or apology for any mistake then you are calling for the attention of the audience which they hadn’t noticed.
