Difference Between Still & Yet

The two adverbs still and yet appear quite simple but many a times create difficulty while framing sentences.

The following explanation will help us figure out the difference between still and yet.

Still:-
It is used to show that a previous condition continues to the present.

Note: It is mostly followed by verb and rarely by adjectives.

Examples:-
1.Are you still waiting for the bus?
2. It is still raining.

Yet:-
1.It indicates something expected but has not been done.
2.It is used for interrogative and negative sentences.

Examples:-
1. I have not got my birthday present yet.
2. Have they not arrived yet?
