Correlative conjuction – include pairs such as both/ and, either/or, neither/nor, not only/ but also. They work in pairs to join phrases or words that carry equal importance within a sentence.There are certain rules to be followed when using correlative conjunction –
* While using correlative conjunction ensure verbs agree,so your sentences make sense.
Eg. Everyday i’m busy either in office or household work at home.
*Be sure that pronouns agree-
Eg. Neither Sam nor John are interested in studies.
*While using correlative conjunction the parallel structure needs to be intact.
Eg. My mother not only cooks good food,but also prepares delicious dessert.
Some examples of correlative conjunctions are:-
* She is neither polite nor funny.
* If that is the case,then i’m not surprised about what’s happening.
* Jerry is neither rich nor famous.
* He is not only intelligent, but also funny.
* Have you made a decision about whether to go to the movies or not.
* This salad is both delicious and healthy.
* Either Lisa or the coach will bring the bag of gear to the game.
