What is the difference between Get and Have? There are many ways in which you can use “get” as a verb. One meaning of “get” is to receive something, / come to have possession of something /enjoyment of something/ fetch/ cause for something/emotions and feelings /command.
Example –
*Get me a glass of water from the kitchen.
*Thomas got a good price of his outstation trip.
*He got drunk in the party. (cause)
*Alice got her haircut and was looking pretty. (cause)
*She gets hurt when she rebukes her.
*Get the boy to obey at once.
*Get going before the movie starts.
“Have” is a Helping verb and a causative verb too which means -possession, to own something, hold on,
to experience or endure as joy or pain, or even to command someone to do something.
Example:
* He has many qualities, one of them is being empathetic.
* Have him on the job as he can be an asset for you.
* Have the meeting to be scheduled in the pre-lunch hours.
* I have got to go, as I am running late.
The ‘Get’ and ‘Have’ can be used interchangeably as they have a negligible difference in the meaning
