For ages – a long period of time. Example: I haven’t seen him for ages and I don’t know what is he doing these days?

For breakfast/lunch/dinner – morning/noon/evening meal. Example: What should I prepare for lunch today?

For certain/sure – without any doubt. Example: You will be able to achieve your goal for sure, if you have planned meticulously.

For a change – opposite to how things generally happen. Example: For a change they behaved nicely with her in front of their friends.

Forever – lasting/permanent. Example: Nice words generally stay in anyone’s heart forever.

For fear of – to avoid the risk of something. Example: She doesn’t refuse even not so profitable projects for the fear of losing her image and rapport.

For fun – in order to amuse oneself. Example: We watch animated movies for fun and relaxation.

Take for granted – to undervalue/underestimate someone or something. Example: Sometimes we take certain things in life for granted and regret when we lose them.

For hire – available to be hired. Example: Cabs as well as drivers are available for hire.

For love – or pleasure and not for profit. Example: He can do anything for love as he is a very emotional and magnanimous person.

For the moment – for the time being. Example: Have patience and focus on what you have for the moment and you can plan for your future accordingly.

For nothing – at no cost/to no purpose. Example: Sometimes I wonder that why he left everything for nothing.

For once – on this/particular occasion only, never happened before nor will happen in future. Example: His love, for once, was not fake.

For the rest of – remaining of. Example: He promised me that he would support me for the rest of his life.

For someone’s sake – for someone’s benefit or good. Example: She always helps the needy for her mother’s sake.

For the sake of – by reason of/in the interest of. Example: Please remain quite for a few days for the sake of my mind.

For sale – offered for purchase. Example: Since the store is getting closed soon, some beautiful and designer dresses are for sale at discounted prices right now.

For the time being – for the present/until some arrangement is made. Example: I am looking for a suitable accommodation for you, but for the time being please stay there.

For a holiday – for a vacation. Example: What are the best places to got for a holiday in summers in India?

Go for a walk – take a walk. Example: I advise you to go for a walk every morning as fresh air is good for the health.

For a while – for a short time. Example: Forget everything for a while and put all your energies into achieving your goals.
