Capitalization means using a capital letter (for example, A instead of a). The use of capital letters helps readers read your writing without confusion.

Always capitalize the following:

Rule1: The first word in a sentence.

My IELTS trainer is on off today.She left a message on my phone.

Rule2: The pronoun I.

Example:This is the right place where I can get copious oppurtunities to speak.

Example: This is the Spoken English Institute in Delhi at Moti Nagar which I was looking for.

Rule3: The first letter of a proper noun (specific name).

Example: David wants to take Website Development Training.

Example:This letter is from Chang.

Example: I did Entrepreneurship or Business Course from Wabs Talk( West Delhi).

Rule4: The first letter of months, days, and holidays (but not seasons).

Example: Humorous Speech Competition is on Sunday.

Example: Wabs Talk remains open from Monday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm.

Example: The shops are closed on Diwali.

Example:This summer, Iam thinking to take Creative Writing sessions.

Rule5: The first letter of nationalities, religions, races of people, and languages.

Example: We often eat Italian food.

Example:I want to master many languages, such as Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Russian.

Example: There is one Christian church in my town.

Rule6: The first letter in a person’s title.

Example: Mr. Reuben Singh is the Managing Director of Wabstalk.

Rule7: Geographic areas: cities, states, countries, mountains, oceans, rivers, etc.

Example: My destination is Paris, France.

Example: Indian Ocean is named after the country India.

Rule8: Historical periods.

Example: The Renaissance began in the 14th century.

Example: The Qing Dynasty is the last dynasty in China.

Rule9: The first letter of each major word in the title of a book, movie, article, etc.

Example: The Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is my favorite movie.

Example: I found the article “How to Write a Good Cover Letter” in this magazine.

Rule10: Names of deities, religious figures and holy books.

Example: Lord Shiva is principal deities of hinduism.

Example: Bhagvad Gita is a holy book.
