10 Rules to Get the Life of Your Dreams | Motivate Yourself

  • Set Goals.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into visible. – Tony t

If you don’t know what you want in life and where you want to reach then you can take any road, but it will lead you nowhere. So it’s important to have goals in life. Decide what you want in your personal and professional life and set deadlines to achieve that. The only thing that you have to keep in mind is that your goals should be realistic. If you are 85kgs and wish to be 62kgs in 3 months then it’s almost impossible. If you set this health goal in your mind then it will give you only disappointment when you will not be able to reach it. So be practical and set realistic goals in each area of your life, be it personal or professional.

  • Believe in yourself.

Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy. – Norman Vincent Peale

Sometimes we are aware of what we want from life, but are not confident enough to move in the direction of our dreams. We have self-doubts and that leads to failures and thus disappointments. So it’s always good to have trust in your abilities and capabilities. If you don’t believe in yourself and your goals and dreams then no one else will. So the most important thing is to believe in yourself…believe that you can get what you want…believe that you can be successful.

  • Take actions.

Nothing happens until you move.

Some people plan a lot, but when it comes to have the outcome it’s always a zero. Do you know why this happens? It happens because such people either keep day-dreaming or planning, but don’t act. We must accept the fact that in order to get something we have to act in that direction. And when our goal is bigger, then we need to take massive actions.

  • Learn from mistakes.

The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing. – John Powell

Sometimes something happens in our lives that is not acceptable to us and we start blaming other people for our failures and instead of finding the root cause of the problem and learning from our mistakes. We must accept the fact that if we will not learn from our mistakes  it’s going to become a pattern and we will keep moving in circles. It’s important to realize the fact that whatever mistake caused us to suffer we should not commit it again in future so as to avoid failures, sufferings and setbacks.

  • Keep your mind clear.

Clarity of vision is the key to achieving your objectives. – Tom Steyer

Without having a clear mind about your life and your objectives you will never be able to achieve anything. If you have clarity then you can easily achieve your goals and for that you must get rid of unwanted thoughts and everything that makes your brain foggy.

  • Be disciplined and persistent.

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. – Jim Rohn

If I weigh 85kgs and I wish to be 62 kgs then I must be disciplined in exercising and eating right. If I eat healthy and exercise for a few days and then I again start eating junk food then do you think I will ever be able to reduce weight?  No. So the most important thing in life is to have a disciplined lifestyle. Whether you want to climb corporate ladder or achieve mastery in anything, you need to put continuous efforts to get the desired outcome.

  • Overcome obstacles.

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. Or I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”

― George Bernard Shaw,

Sometimes people give up as they feel they are only coming across unsurmountable obstacles and they are unable to cross them. Here they forget that there is nothing that can’t be altered or overcome with efforts and right choices. You can alter your habits and can change your thought patterns. You can learn from mistakes and make a better choice.

  • Think positive.

Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success. – Shiv Khera

Negative thinking not only saps our energy, but also makes people around us negative resulting in stress, anxiety and even depression. Thus to be a winner in life, you must be positive. See positive in every situation and circumstance. See what you can learn from it.

We only need to remember that we have to be optimistic rather than cursing circumstances or events or people. If we sow the seed of optimism and water it with efforts and right moves and choices then we are unbeatable.

  • Take charge of your life.

If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it. – Jonathan Winters

Some people keep procrastinating things and thus their success as they want people, circumstances and events as per their choices. Believe me it doesn’t happen. You should not be a puppet in the hands of external factors rather if nothing is in your control then take charge of it. See what changes are required. What efforts to be put in? Then do your best. Give your 100%.  Remember God helps those who help themselves.

  • Have faith.

I believe if you keep your faith, you keep your trust, you keep the right attitude, if you’re grateful, you’ll see God open up new doors.  – Joel Osteen

Don’t give up and let your faith dim even when you find yourself as a failure in life despite efforts, discipline, and right choices. Keep your faith intact.

You might feel that wrong people are growing in life and here I am struggling and moving in circles with life going nowhere. Just believe that there is a time for everything. The Sun rises at its time and the moon appears at its own. Never let disappointments, failures make you lose your faith. Consider it to be just a phase of life and keep giving your best.
