1. Just ten days after the Supreme Court Collegium submitted their names, justices Rajesh Bindal and Aravind Kumar were named Supreme Court judges by the government on Friday

The following Chief Justices of High Courts have been appointed as Judges of the Supreme Court with the provisions of the Indian Constitution. Best wishes to them, Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Law and Justice, wrote in a tweet.

2. According to the government data, almost 16 lakhs Indians have abandoned their citizenship since 2011, with 2,25,620 last year being the greatest number during that time. The lowest number, 85,256, occurred in 2020.

In response to a query in the Rajya Sabha, S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, presented the number of Indians who gave up their citizenship by year.

3.  On Friday, two brand-new Vande Bharat Express trains will depart from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Between Mumbai and Sainagar Shirdi, the entryway to the Deccan Plateau, between Mumbai and Solapur, the new and improved Vande Bharat Express trains 2.0 will operate.

These two trains offer superior passenger amenities like on-board Wi-Fi infotainment, a GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, reclining seats, touch-free bio vacuum toilets, diffused LED lighting, charging points under each seat, individual touch-based reading lights, and hidden roller blinds. Additionally, there are contemporary mini-pantries and emergency talk-back devices so that passengers can get in touch with the crew.

The Earth observation satellite EOS-07 and two co-passenger spacecraft, Janus-1 and AzaadiSat2, were successfully placed in a 450-km circular orbit around the Earth by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Friday. The launch took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

After a six-and-a-half-hour countdown, the 34-meter tall rocket launched at at 9:18 am in ISRO’s first launch of 2023. The launch takes place months after this LV’s first flight, which was partially unsuccessful due to an orbital anomaly and a divergence in the rocket’s flight path.
